Kinetic Wall Art Mechanisms

The Kinetic Wall Art Mechanisms Project is the Fresher Project for 2022/23.

The aim is to introduce freshers to 3D-printing techniques, as well as key mechanical principles. Absolute beginners, as well as anyone who has a keen interest in creating unique and complex mechanisms is invited to join.

A custom CU3D trophy + bragging rights is up for grabs for the most unqiue and eye-catching design!!

Each contraption should be powered in a unique way, and involve creative mechanisms that flaunt whichever mechanical principles look cool!

A piece could be powered by a weight, pendulum, battery, candle, crankshaft... anything that you can think of, the stranger the better...

Contact Henry Wall, hjw61@cam.ac.uk , for more info, or come along to the Dyson Centre @2pm on Wednesdays to meet all of us!
